Inhibits the activation of profibrinolysin (plasminogen) and its conversion into fibrinolysin (plasmin). Blocks epidermal plasminogen activator, which is responsible for excessive capillary growth in rosacea, pigmentation and inflammation. Has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects, inhibits melanin production and neovascularization. Tranexamic acid improves skin barrier function and hydration of the stratum corneum.
