Active components
Due to its lipophilicity and keratolytic action, salicylic acid opens comedones, improving the evacuation of sebum from the ducts of sebaceous glands, which makes this acid ideal for the treatment of acne and oily skin. Salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory (inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins), antiseptic, antipruritic and antimicrobial (controls the reproduction of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria) effects.
Controls and normalizes the amount of sebum, has an antiseptic effect.
Has an anti-inflammatory effect, blocks 5-alpha-reductase, regulating sebum production. Reduces hyperkeratosis. Has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, soothes, relieves redness and irritation.
Skin with signs of acne contains an insufficient amount of linoleic acid, which leads to an impaired protective barrier. Linoleic acid prevents the development of hyperkeratosis and the appearance of comedones.
