It has lipophilicity and keratolytic properties, due to which it opens comedones, improving the evacuation of sebum from the ducts of the sebaceous glands. This makes salicylic acid effective for the treatment of acne and oily skin.

Salicylic acid has an anti-inflammatory effect – inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins. It has antiseptic, antipruritic, antimicrobial (controls the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria) effects.

It has antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Reduces the content of free fatty acids in skin lipids, normalizes the disrupted keratinization processes in the follicles of the sebaceous glands. Azelaic acid blocks 5-alpha-reductase, regulating the production of sebum. Reduces the formation of comedones. Has anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the activity of neutrophil metabolism and reducing the production of free radical forms of oxygen.

Formed by hydrolysis of bitter almond extract. Mandelic acid penetrates the hair follicle, reducing the amount of P.acne bacteria, controls and normalizes the amount of sebum, improves the condition of the skin with comedones, papules, pustules, folliculitis. It is indicated in the treatment of acne due to its keratolytic and bactericidal effects.

Prevents the development of hyperkeratosis and the appearance of comedones. Acne skin has a reduced concentration of linoleic acid due to the dilution effect.
With a lack of linoleic acid, oleic acid is incorporated into ceramides, which contributes to the thickening of the stratum corneum, weakening the connection between the scales and increasing the water permeability of the skin. This leads to disruption of the lipid barrier of the skin at the border of the granular and the stratum corneum. Linoleic acid in the composition helps prevent: increased permeability
epidermis; increase in pH of sebum (its alkalization); disruption of the proper development of the epithelium of the sebaceoushair follicle and, as a consequence, disruption of the sebum secretion process and an increase in the numberof microbes.
